Saturday morning was the season opener for the cross country team. The raiders had a strong showing on both sides for boys & girls.
The girls team placed second in Varsity, third in the open division, and first in intermediate. Maila Healing (Jr) was the individual winner in girls varsity with a time of 19:34.
The boys team opened their season in dominant fashion, sweeping the meet by winning all three divisions. The Varsity team, led by Keane Palmer (Jr) with a time of 16:07, stormed to a "perfect score", placing all 5 scoring runners from first to fifth, followed by 11 out of the top 15 overall places. The XC team open their ILH regular season at MPI next week followed by the 24th running of the ʻIolani XC Invitational at Kaaawa Valley on September 10.
