The Honolulu Marathon is once again hosting an elite field in its Kalakaua Merrie Mile event this Saturday morning at 7am to kick off the marathon weekend.
This year's field includes truly elite athletes such as Edward Cheserek (3 time NCAA XC champion from the University of Oregon, 17 total NCAA titles in XC & Track), Nick Willis (2-time Olympic 1500M medalist from New Zealand), and other elite Olympians & NCAA runners. Our own Coach Ryan will also be running in this fun & fast event
It's not often you'll witness sub 4 milers duke it out. If you are free, we will meet at school at 6:15am this Saturday and jog down to the Kapiolani bandstand together to watch the epic race & festivities. Traffic and parking around Kapiolani Park will likely be crazy, so this is a good excuse to get in a morning warmup.
