2021 IXCI at Kamehameha

Saturday was a display of the One Team spirit beyond the borders of our school.

The 22nd running of the ʻIolani Cross Country Invitational this year was a collaborative effort between ʻIolani and Kamehameha Schools Kapālama (KSK). The meet, usually held at Kualoa Ranch, had to relocate at the 11th hour after the most recent City & County restrictions.

With only campus sites capable of implementing proper health & safety protocols, we worked with KSK to host IXCI at their beautiful campus. IXCI is known for racing in the midst of a beautiful setting. Few places on the island rivals Kualoa Ranch and Kaʻaʻawa valley, but the hillside refuge of the KSK campus provided the best alternative as a more competitive and spacious race course to include visiting teams from California.

A big thank you to KSK for being gracious hosts and providing the site for the return of IXCI this year!

This year was varsity only, and the raiders finished 3rd overall, 1st among local teams.

Next week we return to KSK for an ILH meet; 10 runners per division. We look forward to mixing in a few more students to give them a chance to state their case for the upcoming ILH championship meets.
