Week 2 of the fall season & it's officially 27 days until the first race of the season on Saturday, September 7. Note that the fall season as officially started. If you are on island, you should make every effort possible to attend practices. Those of you returning from summer trips, we'll see you soon.
We do not have a complete meet schedule yet & only a handful of meet venues have been confirmed. Check the schedules page for the meets we can confirm for now. It will be updated as soon as we receive a complete schedule.
A few noteworthy things to call out on the schedule:
Testing dates are noted (ACT, SAT, PSAT) for your reference.
10/19: Intermediate Championships is a week earlier than JV&V Championships; meaning
9th graders are eligible to race in inter champs and come back the next week for JV/V champs. This will be part of the consideration when the coaches select the championship teams towards the end of the season.
Unfortunately Friday, 10/18 is also frosh sleepover. Rest will be an issue going into the championship meet the next morning. Please discuss with Coach Jack individually regarding this conflict if you plan to attend both.
10/26: Senior Camp is on JV/V Championship weekend. Please discuss with Coach Jack individually regarding this conflict if you plan to attend both.
Team Bonding Potluck This Saturday
The boys & girls team captains have organized a team bonding potluck at Magic Island on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. We will meet at site 38 (See attached map below). The boys will have an optional short morning run at 8:30 am; that way we can get there early to claim the spot.
There is a perfect potluck for the event. Sign up for the last few items here: https://www.perfectpotluck.com/QGYP1998
We also need tents, coolers, and ice in addition to the perfect potluck signup.
All runners and their families are invited! It will be a great opportunity to meet other XC families and for both teams to bond. We'll be spending many Saturday mornings together, so might as well get to know everyone! Please do not feel obliged to attend for the entire time. Feel free to come and go as necessary.
As always, don't hesitate to contact Coach Jack should you have any questions.
